The 2018 version is a blend of barrels from previous years. The beer is matured for more than a year in oak barrels in the underground cellars of the brewery - which have been used since the Medieval period. Straffe Hendrik Heritage can be maintained for up to 10 years, during which time the flavors and aromas become even more complex. With the aging process, woody notes of wine and liquor become more evident.
