Delirium Nocturnum is a masterful Belgian Dark Strong Ale, offering a deep and warming sensory journey. It pours a striking dark chocolate brown with a dense, creamy head. The aroma is a complex tapestry of rich caramel, mocha, and toasted nuts, punctuated by distinctive notes of coriander and licorice. On the palate, the influence of chocolate malt and roasted malt creates a sturdy backbone, delivering decadent flavors of dark fruit and cocoa. At 9% ABV, the alcohol warmth is elegantly integrated, providing a soft mouthfeel that gives way to a growing bitterness and a perfectly balanced, dry-leaning finish.

Appearance. Deep chocolate brown (22 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Features a huge, dense, moussy, and persistent creamy head that is white-to-pale yellow in color with significant lacing.

Aroma. High intensity with a rich, bready-toasty malt base featuring deep caramel and mocha. Pronounced yeast esters of raisin, plum, and dried cherry are complemented by subtle spicy phenols including coriander and earthy licorice. A soft, perfumy alcohol presence is noticeable but smooth.

Taste. Initial impression of soft malt sweetness and alcohol warmth. Flavors of dark chocolate and roasted malt emerge strongly, balanced by a medium-low hop bitterness and roasted grain character. Complex notes of dark fruits and light spice harmonize through the mid-palate. The finish is moderately dry and well-balanced, avoiding any cloying or syrupy aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, creamy texture. High carbonation provides a lively lift on the tongue without being sharp. Noticeable but pleasant alcohol warmth that is well-integrated and never harsh.

Top fermented and bottle conditioned, the brew boasts aromas of red fruit, bread, berries and dates, with notes of chocolate, toffee, malt and spice.

Taste follows the nose and also includes notes of honey, banana, and anise with a faint and lingering tartness.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied and creamy with lively carbonation, and effectively masks the 8.5% ABV. The finish is long, warm, slightly bitter and touched with fruit. 16.9 oz can
