Los piratas, después de un motín, solían prender fuego al barco enemigo para eliminar pruebas que pudieran inculparlos. Es por eso que algunos piensan que pirata equivale a incendiario, del griego pyros (“fuego”). La pirata es eso: cervezas incendiarias, artesanas y naturales.
Entusiastas de la experimentación y enamorados de la cerveza, empezamos a hacer los primeros sufridos lotes en la cocina de casa hace ya unos años. Las primeras catástrofes fueron dando paso a algo cada vez más bebible. Justo en el momento en que la cerveza comenzó a parecer cerveza, empezaron a llegar amigos a casa, como por casualidad, y así tuvimos que aumentar la producción. A la gente le empezó a gustar esa birra “pirata” y finalmente tuvimos que decidirnos: La Pirata salía de la clandestinidad!

Como muchos, comencé a elaborar cerveza hace 8 años en la cocina de casa atraído por la química de la conversión del mosto en cerveza. A pesar de todo este tiempo y la cantidad delitros elaborados y consumidos, sigo usando las viejas ollas tuneadas de 50 litros. Aprendo cada día y sigo investigando en todo lo relativo a la cerveza.
Ah! por último, pero no por ello menos importante: me encanta el lúpulo!

De profesiones varias como camarero, montador de rotores, lector de contadores del agua, reciclaje de televisores, restaurador de teleros industriales, minero y mil etcéteras.
Desde muy jovencito ya empecé a degustar cervezas de distintos estilos y de distintos orígenes dando mayor notoriedad a las cervezas artesanas.
Fui haciendo mis primeros “pinitos” en la elaboración de cerveza “arte-sana” gracias a mi hermano Aran, que fue mi introductor en este maravilloso mundo de lúpulos, maltas y levaduras. A épocas más y a pocas menos pero sin dejar fuera de mi este gran proceso y siempre dispuesto a aprender más sobre esta mágica bebida, que por cierto… Nos encanta!

La Pirata Brewing is an Independent Craft Brewery from Barcelona. After many years as gypsies we established our own brewery in 2015, growing since then. As a dynamic, vivid and young company we are always creating new recipes and developing new ways of brewing. Releasing more than 40 different beers per year.

All this has made us won many awards in international and national Beer Awards and Beer Challenges, being named as Best Brewery in 2019 by the International Barcelona Beer Challenge, one of the most important festivals in Craft Beer in Europe.
Since 2015, La Pirata Brewing has been growing and now we are part of the most important Craft Breweries in Spain and we export our products to more than 30 different country around the globe.
