Nuestra pasión cervecera empezó ya hace más de 15 años, aunque probablemente fuera incluso antes, debido a nuestras raíces irlandesas. Cuando empezamos a hacer cerveza, Internet acababa de nacer y en Catalunya la información sobre cómo hacer cerveza era muy escasa, al contrario que ahora, que contamos con foros con abundante documentación, como http://cerveceroscaseros.org y otros.Somos autodidactas y hemos aprendido a hacer cerveza con el método ensayo/error, fijando los aciertos y corrigiendo los fallos. Poco a poco hemos aprendido y mejorado nuestros métodos y cada vez hacemos mejor cerveza.Formamos parte activa de la ACCE (Asociación Cerveceros Caseros Españoles) donde compartimos experiencias y conocimientos dentro del mundo del homebrewering, organizamos catas, concursos, talleres, reuniones, las calçotades Cerveseres de Catalunya (2 ediciones), etc…En el año 2010 creamos la empesa Brewers Brothers, S.L. para fabricar y comercializar nuestras cervezas. Regularmente fabricamos las cervezas a la fábrica de Bleder de Rubí, del maestro Salvador Fortea.En 2011 hicimos nuestra primera colaboración, que fue también la primera entre una micro de aquí y una extranjera. A lo grande. Fue en Sheffield, Inglaterra, con los cerveceros de Steel City Brew. Co., Gazza y Dave. Con ellos elaboramos Blanes Half IPA, una IPA de tan sólo 3,5% y 168 IBU’s, un festival de lúpulos en la boca.Gazza y Dave nos devolvieron la visita en noviembre de 2011 y juntos elaboramos, en las instalaciones de Bleder, la Grim North Black IPA, una cerveza de 114IBU’s, totalmente negra y opaca, combinando lúpulos afrutados y cítricos de Australia y NZ.En enero de 2012, viajamos a tierras toledanas, a casa de las Cervezas Domus. Allí, con Fernando Campoy, elaboramos la Pacífic Lager, una cerveza de fermentación baja, de 5º y 60 IBUS. En su elaboración empleamos una combinación de lúpulos de Oceanía y el resultado fue una cerveza espectacularmente fresca y sabrosa con unos aromas que invitaban a beberla con mucha facilidad. Seguro que habrá más colaboraciones Domus/ Marina.Nuestra filosofía cervecera siempre ha sido hacer la cerveza que nos gusta beber. Durante todos estos años hemos experimentado con muchas recetas, de las cuales algunas ya están en el mercado. Nosotros disfrutamos haciendo cerveza, bebiendo cerveza y, sobre todo, haciendo que la gente disfrute con nuestras cervezas.La cerveza artesana es una bebida socializadora, cautivadora, elaborada con pasión y cariño, utilizando siempre materias primeras naturales y lo más frescas posibles. La cerveza artesana es un producto que ha de consumirse muy fresco si se quiere apreciar todos los matices de sus sabores y aromas.Desde la Associació Birrasana, dedicada a la promoción de la cultura cervecera en todos sus aspectos mediante actividades lúdicas y didácticas: catas de cervezas, talleres de elaboración de cervezas, viajes… organizamos desde 2010 el Festival BIRRASANA de Cervesa Artesana de Blanes. BIRRASANA se consolidó enseguida como una de las citas más importantes del calendario cervecero.Actualmente (finales del 2012, principios del 2013) estamos trabajando en la adecuación del local de nuestra futura fábrica, proyecto en el cual hemos volcado toda la ilusión de todos estos años y que nos permitirá en breve elaborar nuestras cervezas en nuestro hogar: Blanes.Nuestro objetivo de cara al futuro es, además de poner en marcha nuestra fábrica, seguir produciendo cervezas de calidad, seguir disfrutando de todo lo que rodea al mundo de la cerveza artesana y aportar nuestro pequeño grano de arena a todo este movimiento, concienciando a los consumidores y a los locales para que apuesten por BIRRASANA durante muchos años.¡Salud!Pep, Kevin & Goyi
