Marina HOP SHOT
This Hazy IPA presents an explosion of tropical and citrus character driven by a double dry-hop addition of BRU-1, Talus, and Ekuanot. The Ekuanot Incognito provides a concentrated base of lime and pithy citrus, while the BRU-1 contributes distinct notes of sweet, ripe pineapple. Talus adds a unique complexity of pink grapefruit and dried rose petals. Beneath the intense hop layers, a soft, bready malt presence provides a stable foundation. The mouthfeel is remarkably smooth and pillowy, typical of the style, leading to a gentle, fruit-forward finish that lingers without harshness.
Appearance. Straw to light gold (4-6 SRM) with a characteristic opaque haze providing a vibrant shine. Features a dense, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and thick lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward bouquet dominated by pineapple (BRU-1) and tropical stone fruits. Distinctive citrus notes of grapefruit and lime (Ekuanot) are complemented by a subtle floral, herbal undertone (Talus). The malt is low and neutral, presenting as light crackery or bready notes. Esters are supportive and fruity.
Taste. Massive fruity hop flavors mirror the aroma, with pineapple and citrus zest leading the profile. Bitterness is low to moderate, well-integrated and never sharp. The malt flavor is restrained, offering a soft grainy sweetness that supports the juicy character. Finish is medium-dry with a lingering tropical fruit aftertaste and no hop burn.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate, contributing to the smooth, round mouthfeel. Alcohol warmth is light and well-integrated. No astringency or harshness is present.
