3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze Cuvee Armand & Gaston is a blend of one-, two-, and three-year old traditional lambics, all brewed at Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen. Spontaneous fermentation, patient maturation in oak barrels, and continued evolution in the bottle result in a distinctively complex beer. No two bottlings are alike, as there are multiple variables in the blending process, a variety of barrel sizes and shapes, differences in aged lambic proportions, etc. This cuvee, like all of our lambic, is 100% natural, authentic, spontaneously fermented, and crafted with steadfast adherence to tradition, like Armand and Gaston Debelder have always done it.

This geuze has fermented in the bottle and will continue to develop its tastes and aromas over its long life when properly cellared. Traditional Lambic is living, cultural heritage rooted in the Zenne valley! Taste, savour, enjoy, and experience this unfiltered, unpasteurised, and unadulterated beer with friends new and old!

This Cuvée Armand & Gaston was blended with lambik from 8 different barrels and no less than 10 different brews. Some of our own harvested summer 2019 honey was added to this blend. The oldest lambik was brewed at the end of 2016. One of the lambikken was brewed with fresh Coigneau hops, a local “lambik” variety. This blend has aged for over a year at the time of this release.

Die Qualität der Rohstoffe, die die Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen für die Herstellung ihrer Biere verwendet, war schon immer exzellent, doch in den letzten Jahren hat sich die Brauerei selbst übertroffen und auch noch eine Reihe an Braustücken entwickelt, die mit Zutaten aus kontrolliert biologischem Anbau produziert werden. Der Großteil des Hopfens, viel Getreide und auch die meisten der verwendeten Früchte stammen aus der Region, werden mit größter Sorgfalt von Hand verlesen und mit Liebe zum Detail weiterverarbeitet.

Das Cuvée Armand & Gaston ist eines der Bio-Biere im Sortiment. 60 % des verwendeten Getreides wuchs im Pajottenland, der Heimat der Brauerei. Der Sud ist eine Heirat aus sieben verschiedenen Braustücken, die in sechs unterschiedlichen Fässerngereift wurden. Mehrere Bestandteile wurden zwei oder drei Jahre lang gelagert, bevor sie für das Cuvée ausgewählt wurden. Das fertige Bier präsentiert sich in einem kupfern schimmernden Honiggold und krönt sich mit einer flüchtigen Krone luftigen Schaums. Eine olfaktorische Sinfonie aus funky Hefe, grünen Äpfeln, Zitruszesten, weißen Trauben und blassem Malz kitzelt die Nase und macht Lust auf den Antrunk. Das Geschmacksbild wird von einer fruchtigen Säure dominiert und bringt ein harmonisches Zusammenspiel aus sanftem Getreide, grünem Apfel, Weinbergpfirsich, Zitronenschale, hellen Trauben, würzigem Eichenholz und blumigem Hopfen auf die Zunge.

3 Fonteinen Cuvée Armand & Gaston is a geuze blend consisting of one-, two-, and three-year old traditional lambics, all brewed at Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen.

Spontaneous fermentation, patient maturation in oak barrels, and continued evolution in the bottle result in a distinctively complex beer.

This specific Cuvée Armand & Gaston was made with lambics from three different barrels and comes from three different brews. So every ton has a different age. 45% semi-old and aged lambics. Average bottling age was 20 months.

3 Fonteinen Oude Geuze Cuvée Armand & Gaston est un assemblage de lambics traditionnels âgés de un, deux et trois ans, tous brassés à Brouwerij 3 Fonteinen. La fermentation spontanée, la maturation patiente en fûts de chêne et l’évolution continue de la bouteille donnent une bière d’une complexité distincte. Il n’y a pas deux bouteilles identiques, car il existe de nombreuses variables dans le processus de mélange, une variété de tailles et de formes de fûts, des différences dans les proportions de lambic vieilli, etc. Cette cuvée, comme l’ensemble de notre lambic, est 100% naturelle, authentique, fermentée spontanément , et conçu dans le respect de la tradition, comme Armand et Gaston Debelder l’ont toujours fait. Cette gueuze a fermenté dans la bouteille et continuera à développer ses goûts et ses arômes tout au long de sa vie si elle est bien gardée en cave. Un lambic traditionnel est vivant, un patrimoine culturel enraciné dans la vallée de la Zenne !
