Chemicals is a bold collaboration that pushes the boundaries of the Wild Specialty Beer style with a decadent ice cream smoothie profile. Vibrant, tart green apples lead the sensory charge, immediately countered by the rich, tropical sweetness of ripe banana. This pairing creates a nostalgic, candy-like complexity supported by a luscious, velvety backbone reminiscent of vanilla bean ice cream. While the base offers a crisp lactic acidity characteristic of wild fermentations, the dense fruit purée ensures a dessert-like experience. The result is a thick, indulgent sour that balances sharp orchard fruit acidity with a smooth, lingering finish of fruit custard and cream.
Appearance. Opaque and dense with a vibrant pale yellow to soft lime-green hue. Features a thick, creamy, off-white head with moderate retention that leaves a heavy, pulpy coating on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics of freshly sliced green apples and ripe, mashed bananas. A distinct vanilla and lactose creaminess provides a dessert-like foundation, while a sharp, clean lactic acidity cuts through the fruit. Very low hop character; subtle earthy funk from wild fermentation may be present but is largely overshadowed by the intense fruit purée.
Taste. The initial impression is a bright, tangy snap of malic acid from the green apples, followed quickly by a dense, sugary wave of banana and cream. The mid-palate is rich and viscous, reflecting the ice cream smoothie intent. Very low bitterness. The finish is long and sweet-tart, leaving a lingering impression of fruit custard and a clean, acidic lift that prevents the sweetness from becoming cloying.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and remarkably viscous, possessing a smoothie-like thickness and high creaminess. Carbonation is moderate to low, providing just enough lift to the heavy texture. Alcohol warmth is light and well-integrated at 6% ABV. No noticeable astringency.

t's been bouncing around in Denmark for a while, but we've also kept at home a solid share of this awesome collaboration with our brothers in arms and mischief - Stepping Stone. 🇩🇰 CHEMICALS is neither toxic, nor radioactive, although it has the looks of something that would make a hole in the floor. 👽 It's a super-chunky ice cream smoothie sour with tons and tons of banana puree, with extra yummy green apple, banana and vanilla ice cream powder on top. A big sweet gulp, with a nice bubblegum zing and that nice green apple crunch to keep it refreshing, yet still sturdily set in pastry territory. 🍏🍌 You get extra points if you recognize the character from the label. 👀💪
