This Double IPA collaboration between Messorem and Mortalis delivers a 'mortally hopped' experience with a sophisticated sensory punch. It pours a pale gold with a persistent white head and a soft, modern haze. The aroma is intense, dominated by layers of tropical fruit, citrus, and a hint of resinous pine over a neutral, grainy malt base. On the palate, a firm but smooth bitterness carries flavors of mango and grapefruit through to a dry, lingering finish. At 8% ABV, the beer exhibits a well-integrated warmth and a smooth, medium-bodied mouthfeel that emphasizes its high drinkability and exceptional caliber.

Appearance. Pale gold to light orange-copper (SRM 6-8). Generally clear but modern interpretations often show a soft, persistent haze. Moderate-sized, dense, white head with excellent retention and lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent tropical fruit (mango, passion fruit), citrus (grapefruit, orange), and a light resinous pine. Malt is low and neutral, providing a clean, grainy backdrop. Fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters and no solventy alcohol.

Taste. Strong and complex hop flavors of tropical fruit and citrus zest. Bitterness is high (60-100 IBU context) but clean and devoid of harshness. Malt character is low and supportive, offering a light cracker-like flavor without sweetness. Finish is dry to medium-dry with a long, resinous, and fruity aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate-high. Features a restrained, smooth alcohol warmth appropriate for its 8% strength, with no hop-derived astringency.
