Cada sorbo de Chimay Doree es el resultado de una cuidadosa selección de ingredientes de la más alta calidad. Utilizando el agua cristalina del pozo de la Abadía de Scourmont, los monjes elaboran esta delicia con malta de cebada, lúpulo, piel de naranja amarga y cilantro, a los que añaden su levadura de cepa propia y un toque de azúcar.
Pero aquí viene la curiosidad: los monjes de Chimay tenían un noble propósito en mente al crear esta cerveza. Conscientes de las cervecerías locales que producían cervezas ligeras conocidas como Bier de Ménage o “cerveza de casa”, los monjes decidieron no competir con ellas y optaron por ofrecer una cerveza trapense única y distintiva.
La pasión y dedicación de los monjes se vio desafiada durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, cuando su pequeña fábrica de cerveza fue destruida. Sin embargo, su espíritu indomable prevaleció, y hoy puedes deleitarte con la Chimay Doree, un testimonio de la tradición cervecera trapense y la resiliencia de estos monjes.

Chimay Dorée è una belgian pale ale che venne prodotta inizialmente per il consumo privato dai monaci di Chimay e ora è a disposizione di tutti.
Al naso offre sentori fruttati (pesca, albicocca e uva) e agrumati (pompelmo). Al palato è fresca e leggera, con note agrumate e speziate di chiodi di garofano e coriandolo. Termina in un finale secco e gradevolmente acidulo, che invoglia a berne ancora.
