Como buenos amantes de la buena cerveza se vio que había una necesidad de ofrecer cerveza artesanal y gourmet a un mercado ampliamente dominado por las cervezas macro comerciales por décadas. El nombre que llevaría esta cerveza seria Cucapá. El nombre Cucapá proviene de la tribu nativa de nuestro estado; Baja California. La tribu Cucapá fueron los pioneros de nuestra región y su amor por el agua y la naturaleza los llevo a vivir en la delta del Río Colorado en el desierto de Mexicali. La Tradición de la naturaleza, el agua del río y la iniciativa de ser las primeras personas en explorar la región es lo que hace a Cerveza Cucapá tan única como los ancestros de la tribu.
En el 2004 conforme el negocio empezaba a crecer y nuestros clientes demandaban nuestro producto en un empaque más conveniente, Cervecería de Baja California empezó a planear lo que en el 2006 seria nuestra primera planta de producción y embotellado.A finales del 2007 cambio el rumbo de Cervecería de BC de ser un brewpub a ser una planta de producción y con ello se cerraron los dos bares que al momento se tenían. Ahora, Cervecería de Baja California se ha distinguido por ser una cerveza de alta calidad un líder en su categoría y un incansable luchador por la creación de una cultura de la buena cerveza.Cucapá, la marca principal de la empresa, se distingue por ser una cerveza artesanal de primera clase; nosotros no sólo lo decimos, nuestras calificaciones por institutos independientes lo demuestran. Somos la primera y única micro cervecería mexicana que ha recibido una puntuación mas alta de 90 puntos por el Beverage Tasting Institute en cuatro de nuestras cervezas. Nuestros estilos de cerveza que elaboramos varían dramáticamente de una Blond Ale a un Barleywine y cada día nos esforzamos por producir la mejor cerveza de nuestro país con ingredientes nativos de nuestra región que le dan un toque especial a nuestros productos.
