Немного истории о пивоварне Van Honsebrouck Brouwerij – основанная в 1900 году. St-Louis Premium Peche, а началось все в 1811 году, в городке Веркен, на северо-востоке Франции, родился Амандус Ван Хонзбрук, он то и создал семейную пивоварню. Кроме того он еще стал мэром городка в котором родился. В 1865 году возглавляет пивоварню его 21 летний сын – Эмиль. Позже, в 1900 году Эмиль Ван Хонзбрук переезжает на родину своей жены Луизы, во фландрийский Ингельмунстер. Там он покупает маленькую ферму и строит на ее землях пивоварню Святого Джозефа. Первое время он варит только пиво низового брожения и фландрийские эли. Третье поколение Хонзбруков — в лице Эрнеста и Пауля, пришло к управлению компании в 1922 году. Ни отец, ни сыновья не смогли добиться серьезных результатов в пивоварении. По настоянию матери сыновья не бросали семейный бизнес. Более того им удалось поменять старое оборудование на новое, построить солодовню и новые бродильный и варочный цеха. Начали разливать пиво в бутылки. В 1953 году семейное дело возглавил старший сын Пола — Люк Ван Хонзебрук. Он к тому времени закончил обучение в пивоваренном институте Гента и успел постажироваться в Германии. Люк не боялся экспериментов, и через несколько лет пивоварня полностью перешла на изготовление ламбиков и элей. В 1958 году известность получила серия пива от «Ван Хонзбрук» — St. Louis. В те же годы, было принято решение о переименовании семейной пивоварни в Van Honsebrouck Brouwerij. Уже в 1969 году Van Honsebrouck Brouwerij стала вторым по объёму производителем «гез» в Бельгии. В 1986 году семье Ван Хонзбрук удалось выкупить замок Ингельмунстер, а еще через 3 года запустить производство Kasteelbier Donker. Kasteel BrourwerijThere was a time when Lambic, a style of beer created through spontaneous fermentation using wild yeasts in the open air, was only brewed in the immediate vicinity of Brussels. And yet, in 1957, our brewery took up the challenge of brewing the first West Flanders Lambic. This was a thorn in the side of many Brussels Lambic brewers, who tried to undermine St-Louis. They claimed it was impossible to brew Lambic some 100 kilometres out of Brussels. Nevertheless, we still brew Lambic here today. Not in Brussels, but in Izegem, where the wild yeasts grow.
