Quijota Septemberfest captures the festive spirit of the Feria de Albacete through a Spanish interpretation of the traditional Märzen. Despite its high fermentation, a rigorous five-month cold maturation yields a crystal-clear, deep reddish-orange pour. The sensory profile is driven by terroir-specific malts from Albacete and Navarra, offering a rich, bready, and lightly toasty core without the weight of heavy caramel. Clean, herbal hop notes from León provide a precise counterpoint to the malt sweetness, leading into a dry, elegant finish. This medium-bodied amber lager showcases a smooth, creamy texture and a subtle, well-integrated warmth typical of the style.
Appearance. Ranging from deep golden to a reddish-orange hue (10–15 SRM); remarkably crystal clear despite being unfiltered. Features a persistent white to off-white foam head that settles into a fine amber-tinted layer.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity malt aroma featuring rich bread crust and light toasty notes from Albacete and Navarra malts. Clean fermentation profile with very low herbal or spicy hop notes from León hops. Lacks any heavy caramel or roasted character.
Taste. Initial impression of rich, bready malt sweetness that transitions into a distinctive toasty character. Hop bitterness is clean and moderate, providing balance so the finish remains moderately dry rather than cloying. Features elegant, lingering malt flavors with low herbal hop notes and no harsh roasted or caramel flavors.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, creamy texture and moderate carbonation. Though brewed at 6% ABV, the alcohol warmth is relatively hidden and well-integrated. Highly attenuated with a clean, non-astringent mouthfeel.
