This Double IPA delivers an assertive hop experience driven by a complex blend of Vic Secret, Motueka, Mosaic, and Simcoe. The aromatic profile is an intense convergence of tropical pineapple and passion fruit with bright lime citrus and a resinous pine undercurrent. On the palate, the hop-forward character remains dominant, supported by a clean, neutral malt base that allows specific berry and mango notes to shine. Despite its strength, it maintains high drinkability with a dry finish and a firm, well-integrated bitterness that lingers pleasantly without harshness, embodying the modern, lupulin-heavy approach of this style.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange with a hazy to opaque clarity. Displays a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent tropical notes of pineapple and passion fruit from Vic Secret and Mosaic, complemented by bright lime and lemon zest from Motueka. A supporting layer of resinous pine and grapefruit from Simcoe sits over a neutral, grainy malt background with very light fruity esters.
Taste. Strong and complex hop flavors of mango, lime, and citrus pith, followed by an earthy, resinous pine character. Moderately high bitterness is firm but smooth, balanced by a clean, soft malt profile. The finish is dry to medium-dry, leaving a lingering hoppy and bitter aftertaste without being heavy.
