Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Rich malty aroma featuring notes of toast, chocolate, and coffee from the special malts. Prominent brown candi sugar sweetness. Fruity esters suggesting white fruits and subtle raisins. Low to moderate spicy phenols with hints of aniseed and liquorice. Low herbal hop character.
Taste. Full-flavored initial impression dominated by rich malt, biscuit, and toasted grain. Sweetness from brown candi sugar is balanced by a subtle, refreshing acidity that heightens the roasted character. Chocolate and liquorice flavors emerge mid-palate.
