The presence of vanilla creates a lush, affogato-like character, blending seamlessly with sophisticated notes of earthy pipe tobacco. This 11% ABV powerhouse is defined by its decadent complexity and a luxurious, velvet-like delivery. Its character is one of harmony between intense roasted malt depth and the sweet, resinous accents of its adjuncts, resulting in a bold yet refined sipper.
Appearance. SRM 40+; jet black and completely opaque; dense, persistent dark mocha head with excellent retention and thick, oily lacing; high viscosity visible as legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity; deeply roasted malt layers of dark chocolate, espresso, and charred grain; distinct woody sweetness from maple syrup and creamy floral notes from vanilla; subtle dark fruit esters of prune and raisin alongside an earthy, tobacco-like complexity; alcohol is noticeable but well-integrated.
Taste. Initial impression of intense bittersweet chocolate and roasted coffee; mid-palate reveals rich pecan fudge and maple-driven caramelization; vanilla provides a creamy, dessert-like softening of the roast; moderate-high bitterness is balanced by significant residual sugar; finish is long and warming with lingering cocoa and pipe tobacco.
