Ayinger Maibock is a quintessential Helles Bock, capturing the essence of Bavarian spring. It pours a deep golden-yellow with a slight natural haze, reflecting its traditional, unfiltered nature. The sensory experience is led by a robust, grainy-sweet malt backbone featuring doughy and lightly toasted notes. This richness is elegantly countered by the herbal and spicy refinement of Hallertauer hops, which provide a clean bitterness to balance the initial sweetness. At 6.9% ABV, it offers a subtle, well-integrated warmth. The finish is remarkably smooth and attenuated, ensuring high drinkability despite its strength, making it a masterclass in malt-forward balance.

Appearance. Deep gold color (approx. 8 SRM). Large, creamy, and persistent off-white head with excellent lacing. Traditionally served naturally cloudy (naturtrübe), showing a distinct haze.

Aroma. Moderate to high intensity grainy-sweet malt, reminiscent of fresh bread dough and light honey. Moderate herbal and spicy hop character from Hallertauer varieties. Clean fermentation profile with no esters and a very light, well-integrated alcohol note.

Taste. Strong initial impression of bready and doughy malt sweetness followed by rich, lightly toasted Maillard products. Hop flavor is moderate, presenting herbal and spicy notes.
