Van Steenberge Creada en el año 1784 en Ertvelde, un pequeño pueblo histórico de Flandes, es actualmente una de los productores belgas más representativos y extendidos internacionalmente. Siguiendo la tradición cervecera belga, Van Steenberge ha ido recorriendo los diferentes escalafones del organigrama familiar. Fundada por un obrero belga bajo el nombre “De Peer”, fue dirigida por su mujer (hecho destacable si tenemos en cuenta el contexto histórico) durante varios años con la ayuda de un familiar cercano. Al tiempo, este familiar la heredó y sería el marido de su hija, Paul Van Steenberge (reputado profesor de microbiología en el colegio de cerveceros de Gante) quién le otorgó el nombre que ahora ostenta. Posee marcas de gran reputación, como Gulden Draak, Piraat o Augustijn, siendo su punto fuerte las cervezas oscuras y de alta graduación alcohólica.
