This classic Dunkles Weissbier from the Holy Mountain pours a striking chestnut brown with a characteristic yeast-driven opacity and a dense, creamy foam. The aroma is a sophisticated bouquet of ripe banana and bright pineapple esters, underscored by rich Bavarian dark wheat and barley malts that offer subtle notes of cocoa and toasted caramel. Appearance. Chestnut to mahogany brown (14-23 SRM); very thick, creamy, off-white, long-lasting head; hazy with a fine-structured yeast turbidity.

Aroma. Moderate to high intensity; prominent esters of ripe banana and tropical pineapple; light clove phenols; rich bready and caramel malt character with faint cocoa notes; very low spicy Hallertau hop aroma.

Taste. Initial impression of rich bready malt and fruity esters; flavors of banana and pineapple balanced by caramel sweetness and light cocoa; very low hop bitterness; well-rounded and malty palate with a soft, clean, and refreshing finish.

This beer boasts a chestnut color, served with a creamy, fine-poured foam crown. Andechs Weissbier Dunkel has a harmonious interplay of fruit flavors including banana & pineapple, followed by subtle caramel & chocolate tones. Light caramel sweetness combines perfectly with a fine hop bitterness.

Our Andechs monastery beers from the Holy Mountain Andechs in Bavaria combine the centuries-old Benedictine brewing tradition with today’s modern brewing technology. We attach great importance to the selection of exquisite raw materials. Malts from selected malting houses, Hallertau aroma hops and our own pure yeast ensure consistently high quality.

Our bottom- and top-fermented beer specialties are fermented in closed tanks in our own fermentation and storage cellars. Here the last turbidity is removed in the filtration. Incidentally, top-fermented beers are not filtered, they are fermented at higher temperatures and often have fruity notes. Bottom-fermented beers impress with their malt-aromatic to hoppy note.
