This decadent Imperial Stout pours like midnight oil, offering a layered sensory experience inspired by the classic Esterházy Torta. The nose is a rich tapestry of toasted hazelnut and aromatic vanilla, underpinned by the deep, bittersweet essence of cacao nibs and Chocolate malt. On the palate, a complex malt bill featuring Pilsner, Crystal T50, and Double Roasted Caramel provides a luscious, cake-like sweetness, while Roasted Barley adds a necessary charred counterpoint. Earthy Columbus hops provide a structural bitterness that balances the creamy lactose and maltodextrin. The finish is long and indulgent, leaving a lingering impression of nutty confectionery and warming alcohol.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40+ SRM). It supports a dense, long-lasting deep tan head. High viscosity is evident through pronounced legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity. Dominant notes of toasted hazelnut and creamy vanilla blend with rich bittersweet chocolate and cocoa. Supporting malt characters include espresso, burnt sugar, and a hint of dark fruit like raisins. Low earthy hop aroma from Columbus; clean fermentation profile.

Taste. Initial impression is thick and dessert-like. Intense flavors of milk chocolate and roasted hazelnuts lead into caramel, toffee, and dark-roasted coffee. Roasted Barley provides a firm bitterness that balances the lactose and maltodextrin sweetness. The finish is exceptionally long, echoing vanilla and nutty praline with smooth alcohol warmth.

Mouthfeel. Full to very full-bodied with a luxurious, chewy, and velvety texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A gentle, smooth alcohol warmth is present and noticeable but well-integrated.
