Cerveza tipo Old Ale

Aroma: A malta dulce con ésteres frutados, a menudo con mezcla de aromas a frutas secas, a vino, a caramelo, a melazas, nuez, toffee y/u otras maltas especiales.
Aspecto: Ámbar claro a color marrón rojizo muy oscuro. En nuestro caso (SRM 24,61), podemos decir que presenta un color marrón oscuro. La espuma es de moderada a baja y de color marrón claro.
Sabor: Carácter medio a alto de malta, a menudo con sabores a nuez, caramelo o melazas. El balance es a dulzor de la malta, pero puede estar bien lupulada.
Sensación en boca: Cuerpo medio a pleno, denso. Carbonatación baja a moderada. Impresión general: Una ale de significativa graduación alcohólica, más importante que las strong bitters y las Brown portes, aunque no tan fuerte o rica como una barleywine. Según Michael Jackson, “Debe ser una cerveza que dé calor, de las que son óptimamente bebidas en vasos de media pinta junto al calor del fuego en una fría noche de invierno”.
Ingredientes: Malta Pale, Malta Pilsen, Maíz, Avena, Malta Caramunich Ecológica, Malta Special B, Cebada Tostada, Lúpulos Hallertau Mitterfruch y Hallertau Hersbrucker, Levadura Safale S-04, Agua de Fuente Fría (Cáceres) y Azúcar.

Ola Dubh 16 Year Special Reserve

Ola Dubh (pronounced ‘ola-doo’ and Gaelic for ‘black oil’) was conceived in 2007. It was the first ale to be matured in whisky barrels from a named distillery and, with traceable casks and numbered bottles, it is a beer with real provenance. To make Ola Dubh 16, we take our Old Engine Oil (amped up to 10.5%) and age it for up to 6 months in casks that previously held Highland Park 16 Year Old single malt. And it is ready only when our head brewer, Stuart, deems it ready!

Aged in oak casks formerly used to mature Highland Park 16 Year Old Single Malt Whisky, our thick, gloopy base beer takes on distinct whisky notes, perfectly complementing its roasty, toasty bitterness.

Like the others, Ola Dubh 16 pours out jet black, with a small mocha-coloured head. There’s plenty to enjoy on the nose which is a classy blend of whisky, sweet roasted malts, earthy woodland and vanilla. The flavour is rich; loaded with sweet-roasted dark malts and coffee. And just at the finish there’s nice, smoky peat hints with just a touch more bourbon than the 12.

La Real del Duero Old Ale

Cerveza de estilo tradicional inglés. Se madura en barriles de roble al menos durante un año. Macerada a altas temperaturas y con una fermentación incompleta hacen de ella una cerveza compleja que con el tiempo continúa mejorando.

De color rojo caoba oscuro, con una espuma densa y persistente, en nariz inicialmente notamos los descarados aromas del ítrico lúpulo (limón, papaya ….) que destacan sobre los aromas de la malta que se dejan notar posteriormente aportando un equilibrio entre frutas cítricas tropicales y aromas torrefactos, a café , caramelo, ….

Maridaje: marisco, barbacoa, comida picante, queso maduro y queso azul.
