La receta de Humming Ale y su sabor final, deben mucho a los métodos tradicionales que se utilizan para hacer la Liberty Ale. Ambas son elaboradas con malta pálida, un proceso de carbonatación natural llamado "bunging", y dry hopping, pero el perfil de sabor único lo da un lúpulo de Nueva Zelanda llamado Nelson Sauvin.

Humming es un término antiguo, que se encuentra en todas partes desde Robin Hood a Herman Melville, y que se utiliza para describir una cerveza fuerte, efervescente, con mucho carácter, o simplemente en alabanza de una cerveza realmente buena. Originalmente creada para celebrarel 30 aniversario de nuestra ubicación en Mariposa Street, está disponible de julio a noviembre y se ha convertido rápidamente en un clásico que hace honor a su nombre. Our annual Christmas Ale is a subtly spiced and sumptuously smooth winter warmer. This year’s brew marks the 44th annual release of this Anchor holiday tradition.

Back in 1975, Anchor released the first holiday beer in America since Prohibition. Year after year, Anchor creates a new, secret recipe with a unique hand drawn label for their Christmas Ale, but the intent with each brew remains the same: joy for the changing seasons and celebration of the newness of life. With a heavily guarded, confidential recipe, Christmas Ale is sold only from early November to mid-January. This highly anticipated seasonal delight is complex and full in flavor, packed with toasty cocoa notes, roasted malts and strong aromas of resinous pine.

La Christmas Ale es una cerveza de invierno que elabora cada año desde 1975 la firma de San Francisco con una receta y una etiqueta diferente en la que siempre destaca un ejemplar de conífera.

Cerveza de color marrón oscuro, con aromas dulces y afrutados. En boca también se notan gustos dulzones de caramelo y frutales. Una cerveza de buena carbonatación, poco amarga y cuerpo medio.
