And if that was not challenging enough, we also committed to brewing this according to the German Reinheitsgebot! We used
Weihenstephan’s yeast and a blend of hops from both our own and Weihenstephan.
Connoisseurs will recognize the ‘oxymoron’ or the apparent contradiction in the beer’s style and name. An unfiltered Helles is, by definition, a contradiction. We find this tension incredibly intriguing, as it mirrors the duality of our brewery: our beers are iconic and steeped in tradition and authenticity, yet we also enjoy pushing boundaries to appeal to the adventurous beer drinker.
The visual identity of Kombine 2025 continues the design introduced with Braupakt. The label once again features St. Bernardus and Saint Korbinian, the founder of Weihenstephan. These two iconic figures were brought to life by the Belgian illustrator Xavier Truant, who also created the now-famous illustrations for the elevator shaft in our
brewery in Watou.

In 2024 we already ventured into a very succesfull collab with Weihenstephan, resulting in the beer Braupakt, brewed at their facility. This time, the beer is brewed at our brewery.

Design The visual identity of Kombine 2025 continues the Braupakt line. The label once again features our St.Bernardus and Saint Korbinian, the founder of Weihenstephan. The 2 iconic figures were brought to life by the Belgian illustrator Xavier Truant, who previously also designed the now famous illustrations in the elevator shaft of our brewery in Watou.

Reinheitsgebot
This literally means ‘purity law’. It means that beer may only be brewed from water, hops, malt and yeast – and no other ingredients. This law dates back to the 16th century, with three objectives in mind: to protect consumers from rising prices, to prohibit the use of wheat so that more bread could be produced, and to prevent unscrupulous brewers from adding toxic ingredients to their beer as conservatives or flavouring agents. It is the oldest food safety law in the world. Today, it is synonymous with the quality mark of a Bavarian beer! Future
The name ‘Kombine’ will from now on serve as the banner under which we launch creative alliances with other breweries. This name reflects our international ambition, as it is easily pronounced in multiple languages. Each future St.Bernardus collab will represent a specific beer style, with the overarching name ‘Kombine’ remaining central to these ventures.
