We sent the guys at both Three Marks and Nomad Coffee roasters the brief of coming up with a coffee blend that would compliment two beers; a stout and a pale sour. They came up with a really complex blend that is rich and full bodied with chocolate and light fruity notes. We brewed a pale sour with a simple girst of Golden Promise, Flaked Oats and Flaked Wheat to provide a soft, fluffy base on which to lay the coffee. A modest hop edition was added at a very cool whirlpool temperature to add more complexity to the base beer before it was fermented on London Fog and then conditioned on lots of coffee. This is a soft, tart and drinkable sour with a beautiful rich coffee character. Less
