Een smaakvolle herinnering aan de keuken van vroeger
Deze unieke stout is ontstaan uit een persoonlijk verhaal van Goose Island-medewerker Paul Spiller, die zich liet inspireren door de warme, zoete aroma’s van laatavondbakmomenten met zijn moeder. Het resultaat is een bier dat niet alleen de smaakpapillen verwent, maar ook het hart raakt – een vloeibare hommage aan de liefde en warmte van thuis.
Vakmanschap en verbeelding in één fles
De Macaroon Stout 2024 onderging eerst een zorgvuldige rijping van maar liefst 12 maanden in hoogwaardige bourbonvaten, waardoor het bier een krachtige basis ontwikkelt met tonen van eikenhout, vanille en whiskeywarmte. Na deze rijping werd het bier verrijkt met drie zorgvuldig gekozen ingrediënten:
Intense cacaonibs voor diepte en bitterzoete chocoladetonen
Gekonfijte gember die een subtiel kruidige frisheid toevoegt
Geroosterde kokos voor een romige, tropische toets die het geheel afrondt
Samen zorgen deze toevoegingen voor een weelderig, gebalanceerd en gelaagd smaakprofiel dat rechtstreeks doet denken aan een perfect gebakken kokosmakroon – maar dan met de volwassen elegantie van een barrel-aged stout.
Smaakervaring: zoet, krachtig en nostalgisch
In de neus ontvouwt zich een verleidelijk aroma van chocolade, vanille, geroosterde kokos en zachte bourbon, met een vleugje verwarmende gember. De smaak is rijk en romig, met een volle body en zijdezacht mondgevoel. De combinatie van geroosterde mout, bourbonwarmte en dessertachtige ingrediënten maakt dit tot een van de meest decadente en toegankelijke releases binnen de Bourbon County-serie.

A Stout a porter szárazabb, sötétebb, testesebb erősebb leszármazottja. Színben nagyon hasonlóak, a stoutokban azonban sokkal több a karamellizált pörkölt maláta és a kávés ízvilág, valamint édeskésebbek is. A stout szó első ismert használata egy 1677-ben keltezett, az Egerton Manuscripts-ban talált dokumentumban, amely a sör erősségére utal. 1721-ben használták először a porter nevet egy pörkölt malátával készült sötétbarna sör leírására. A porterek hatalmas népszerűsége miatt a sörfőzők többféle erősségben készítették őket. Az erősebb, jellemzően 7 vagy 8 %-os alkoholtartalmú söröket "stout porter"-nek nevezték, így a stout és a porter története és fejlődése összefonódott.
