This Triple IPA delivers an intense sensory experience through innovative dip-hopping, showcasing a saturated hop profile. The use of Chinook and Cascade provides a foundational resinous pine and citrus backbone, while Simcoe, Cryo Ekuanot, and Cryo Citra explode with layers of tropical mango, ripe melon, and zesty lime. Despite its formidable 11% ABV, the beer maintains a smooth, integrated alcohol warmth. The massive 40g/l hopping rate creates a lush, oily texture that coats the palate with vibrant hop oils, finishing with a firm, clean bitterness characteristic of a well-crafted Double IPA. It balances extreme hop saturation with a soft, supportive malt presence.
Appearance. Pours a deep gold to light orange-copper with a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head that leaves significant lacing. While the style allows for clarity, this version presents a pronounced haze reflective of its heavy hopping and New England influence.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit, resinous pine, and tropical fruits like mango and papaya. A subtle, clean, bready maltiness sits in the background, complemented by light fruity esters and a noticeable but smooth alcohol presence.
Taste. Leading with a powerful wave of citrus zest, tropical fruit, and piney resin. The malt flavor is clean and unobtrusive, providing just enough support for the high bitterness, which remains firm and clean without harshness. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering, oily hop character and a smooth, warming alcohol note.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, almost creamy texture from the high hop oil concentration. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a crispness that cuts through the density. Noticeable but restrained alcohol warmth without any solventy bite or harsh astringency.
