Weihenstephaner Vitus Our Weizenbock Vitus – a strong wheat bock – is one of a kind. It has attracted many loyal followers who prefer to enjoy this beer year-round, not only during the traditional season for strong beer. Cloves are readily perceptible in the flavor, with a hint of banana. Full-bodied and effervescent, the fine bubbles of carbon dioxide create a foaming sensation in the mouth. Vitus doesn’t taste like a conventional strong beer, but rather more like a premium, fruity wheat beer. Saturated with fine yeast and topped with a creamy head of foam, Weihenstephaner Vitus, our pale wheat bock has a fruity profile, resplendent with aromas of dried apricots and citrus fruits. Our pale wheat bock is lagered for an extended period of time, resulting in a perfectly balanced strong beer with a rounded character. Nuestra bock de trigo pálido se añeja durante un período prolongado, lo que da como resultado una cerveza fuerte perfectamente equilibrada con un carácter redondo.

Weihenstephaner

Cette bière est brassée dans la plus ancienne brasserie en activité au monde, la célèbre Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan. Elle tire son nom de la colline où elle a été construite en Bavière (Allemagne). Depuis 1040, on y produit des bières de haute qualité. Pour preuve, la Weihenstephaner Vitus a été élu Meilleure bière du monde par le World Beer Award en 2011, toutes catégories confondues.

La Weihenstephaner Vitus est une bière réalisée à partir de froment (blé tendre) et de malt d'orge. La robe est ambrée, très foncée et la mousse est particulièrement abondante. On retrouve un peu de dépot au fond, dû à la mise en bouteille sans filtration.

Au nez, apparaissent des notes très fruitées notamment de banane et d'agrumes et des notes légèrement épicées. En bouche, on retrouve les mêmes arômes qu'au nez, avec une pointe d'acidité qui équilibre le tout. Légèrement amère, cette bière plaira au grand nombre. À consommer avec modération avec ses 7.7° d'alcool !

Onze lichtgekleurde, kruidige eenlingbok “Vitus” is verzadigd met fijne gist en een romig schuim. Het is een specialiteit met een rond karakter dankzij de extra lange bewaartijd. De fruitige geur van gedroogde abrikozen combineert aroma's van citrus, kruidnagel en hints van banaan. Vol en sprankelend met een bruisend mondgevoel. De Vitus smaakt dus niet als een typisch Bockbier maar eerder als een edel, fruitig witbier. Perfect bij rood vlees, sterke kaas en ook geschikt als begeleider van desserts. Gebrouwen volgens onze eeuwenoude brouwtraditie op de Weihenstephan-heuvel.

Weihenstephaner Vitus Bock pours cloudy blond golden yellow. Bright white colored, foamy head and very nice legs with equally sexy lace. Aroma of freshly picked bananas. Dominate banana aroma. Some mustard seed, a nice clove and a touch of honey sweetness in the nose as well. Very grainy wheat flavor yields a nice bit of sweetness. Lots of fruity yeast esters. Finishes with a lingering spiciness of black pepper. A nice calming alcoholic presence. Creamy texture, very smooth on the palate. Full bodied. Dangerously drinkable.
