This collaboration with Yakima Chief Hops reinvents the Munich Helles as a high-impact, modern lager. Built on a traditional base of grainy-sweet malt, the sensory profile is dominated by intense whirlpool and dry hop additions that create a saturated, aromatic experience. While the underlying lager character remains clean and smooth, the Outlier approach introduces vibrant notes of citrus and resin usually found in contemporary pales. It balances a soft, bready malt sweetness with a firm hop presence, resulting in a refreshing beer that finishes dry while leaving a lasting impression of hop-derived fruitiness and modern hop character.
Appearance. Pale gold (4 SRM). Brilliantly clear to a very slight haze from heavy dry hopping. Persistent, creamy white head with fine lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominant modern hop character featuring citrus zest, tropical fruit, and light resinous pine. Moderate grainy-sweet malt backbone provides a steady base. Clean fermentation profile with no esters or diacetyl.
Taste. Moderately malty start with a grainy-sweet impression, quickly overtaken by punchy, saturated hop flavors. Hop bitterness is moderate and notably higher than traditional examples, but remains soft rather than harsh. The finish is dry and clean with a lingering, refreshing hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, well-lagered character. Moderate carbonation. Crisp and refreshing with no detectable alcohol warmth or hop-derived astringency.
