Ore is a collaboration between Verdant and Saint Monday, delivering a vibrant Hazy IPA defined by its soft, pillowy texture. The inclusion of spelt in the grist creates a breezy, fluffy mouthfeel that carries an intense hop profile. Mosaic takes center stage, offering a complex blend of ripe mango, blueberry, and subtle earthy pine. Supporting this, a cast of New Zealand superstars adds bright layers of crushed gooseberry and zesty lime. This juice-forward profile is balanced by a restrained bitterness and a clean, grainy malt backbone, resulting in a highly drinkable and aromatic experience that epitomizes the modern East Coast style.
Appearance. Straw to pale gold with a deep, opaque haze that gives the liquid a luminous quality. It is topped with a persistent, dense, white meringue-like head that leaves substantial lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics lead with Mosaic-driven notes of tropical mango and stone fruit, followed by a distinct blueberry sweetness. New Zealand hop influence provides nuances of white grape and citrus zest. A light, grainy, and bready malt character from the spelt sits quietly in the background, free of any caramel notes.
Taste. Massive tropical and citrus fruit flavors mirror the aroma, featuring pineapple, mango, and a touch of lime. The malt flavor is low, providing a neutral, doughy base. Bitterness is moderate but perceived as soft and integrated, leading to an off-dry, juice-laden finish without any harsh hop astringency.
Mouthfeel. Medium-bodied with a notably soft, creamy, and fluffy texture attributed to the addition of spelt. Carbonation is moderate. It exhibits a smooth, rounded character with no significant alcohol warmth or astringency, enhancing its overall drinkability.
