Small Acts is an elegant, session-strength Grisette that highlights the delicate intersection of rustic grain and mixed-culture fermentation. This pale ale offers a sophisticated bouquet of ripe pear and honeydew melon, underpinned by the refreshing aroma of freshly cut grass. Aging in oak barrels imparts a subtle structural complexity to the otherwise light and crackery grain bill. The palate is bone-dry and effervescent, showcasing a vibrant interplay between fruity esters and a soft, rustic malt foundation. This interpretation of a Saison emphasizes extreme drinkability while maintaining a nuanced yeast expression and a crisp, clean, and highly attenuated finish.
Appearance. Pale straw to light gold; luminous and unfiltered with a slight haze. Features a long-lasting, dense, rocky white head with excellent Belgian lace.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Dominant fruity esters of ripe pear and honeydew melon are complemented by a low spicy phenol character. Subtle notes of freshly cut grass provide a herbal hop lift, supported by a light, crackery malt and a hint of neutral oak.
Taste. Initial impression is exceptionally dry and refreshing. Soft, grainy malt flavors reminiscent of crackers lead into a complex fruit profile of melon and pome fruit.
