The Lost Abbey

This West Coast Double IPA delivers a classic, resinous profile defined by a bold hop presence and a remarkably clean finish. The aroma is dominated by intense notes of grapefruit zest, sticky pine, and a touch of floral spice, all supported by a lean, neutral malt backbone. On the palate, a firm bitterness takes center stage, offering deep flavors of resin and citrus pith without the cloying sweetness often found in higher-gravity ales. Appearance. Deep gold to light copper with brilliant clarity. Topped by a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head that leaves intricate lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of resinous pine, grapefruit peel, and subtle floral tones. The malt character is neutral and grainy in the background, with a very clean fermentation profile and a light hint of well-integrated alcohol.

We really wanted to live in a land of citrus rinds and piney dreams, so we hopped this beer with Cascade, Mosaic, Columbus and Centennial, and dry-hopped it with lots of Simcoe. We have contracted for a new-to-the-market hop and will be metering some of that into the beer, as well.
