This massive Imperial Stout, a collaboration with Boulevard Brewing, presents an opulent sensory profile driven by its double barrel-aging process. Initial aromatics of roasted malt and dark chocolate are punctuated by the distinctive rye oak earthiness derived from its first rest in premium rye whiskey barrels. A secondary finishing in bourbon barrels adds layers of vanilla and caramelized sugar. The flavor is profoundly intense, balancing charred grain and espresso notes with a spicy, peppery rye character. At a staggering 16.8% ABV, the experience is defined by a viscous, velvety texture and a lingering, sophisticated alcohol warmth that integrates seamlessly into the decadent finish.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque. Pours with a thick, dark tan head that shows moderate to low retention due to high alcohol content. Pronounced viscosity is evident through heavy 'legs' or staining on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of bittersweet chocolate, heavy roast, and black coffee. Strong barrel-derived notes of spicy rye, oak, and vanilla are prominent. Esters of dark fruit, specifically prunes and raisins, meld with a clean, smooth alcohol presence.

Taste. An intense initial impression of dark chocolate and roasted malt. The mid-palate reveals layers of earthy rye whiskey and toasted oak. Bitterness is moderate to high but balanced by a rich, malty sweetness. The finish is long and warming, with persistent notes of cocoa, charred wood, and a hint of caramel from the bourbon finishing.

Mouthfeel. Full to very full-bodied with a chewy, luscious, and velvety texture. Carbonation is low, enhancing the beer's weight. A significant, smooth alcohol warmth is present throughout, without being sharp or solventy.
