Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40+ SRM). Minimal, short-lived deep tan head with low retention due to high alcohol and nut oils; produces prominent legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity; rich blend of dark chocolate, espresso, and toasted hazelnuts. Strong esters of dried dark fruits like figs and prunes combine with charred oak, vanilla, and a noticeable but clean alcohol presence.
Taste. Intense initial impression of molasses and cocoa. Robust malt flavors of dark chocolate and toast are secondary to the rich hazelnut praline. Moderate bitterness provides balance against the heavy residual sweetness. The finish is long and warming with a complex aftertaste of roasted grain and nut oils.
