Forbidden Candy is a high-impact Double IPA that leans into the lush, saturated profile of a modern Triple IPA. Collaborative brewing expertise results in a vibrant sensory tapestry driven by Ekuanot, Citra, Mosaic, and El Dorado hops. The aroma and palate are awash with intense layers of sweet berry, juicy stone fruit, and tropical notes reminiscent of mango and pineapple. Despite its 9.5% ABV, the beer maintains a deceptive drinkability, transitioning from a soft, malt-supported sweetness into a distinct candy-like finish. This expression emphasizes hop saturation over sharp bitterness, offering a plush, fruit-forward experience that defines the contemporary big and hoppy aesthetic.

Appearance. Deep gold to light copper (8-11 SRM) with a modern, slight haze from heavy dry-hopping. Features a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with excellent lacing.

Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring prominent blueberry and tropical fruit. Mosaic and Citra provide citrus and berry depth, while El Dorado contributes stone fruit and pear notes. Clean, neutral malt sweetness in the background with a soft, detectable alcohol presence.

Taste. Strong, complex hop flavors dominated by mango, melon, and candied orange peel. Moderate to high bitterness that is smooth rather than harsh. Low supportive grainy malt leads into a unique, candy-like sweet finish. Aftertaste is a lingering mix of tropical fruit and clean alcohol warmth.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, velvety texture. Moderate carbonation. Noticeable, well-integrated alcohol warmth without being hot or solventy. Low hop-derived astringency.
