Sierra Nevada Celebration
This quintessential American IPA signals the winter season with a bold display of fresh-harvested hops. The sensory experience is defined by a vivid interplay of Cascade, Centennial, and Chinook hops, which deliver a classic profile of pungent grapefruit citrus and resinous forest pine. A sturdy, reddish-amber malt backbone provides a toasty, caramel-tinged contrast to the aggressive bitterness. The fresh hop character lends a vibrant, floral lift that distinguishes it from year-round counterparts, finishing with a crisp, lingering resinous bite and a well-integrated warming presence that reflects its festive, holiday intent.
Appearance. Deep amber to light copper (12–14 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a dense, creamy, off-white head that exhibits exceptional persistence and leaves thick, decorative lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by resinous pine, grapefruit zest, and spicy floral undertones. Supporting the hops is a moderate malt profile featuring toasted bread and light caramel. Fermentation is clean with very subtle, background fruity esters.
Taste. Assertive hop-forward initial impression. Prominent flavors of pine needle, citrus peel, and a spicy earthiness from the hop blend. Malt flavor is medium-low but provides a firm foundation of toasted grain and light caramel sweetness. Bitterness is high and firm, leading into a dry, resinous, and long-lasting finish.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a lively mouth-coating prickle. A gentle, smooth alcohol warmth is present, enhancing the robust character without any harshness.
