The sensory experience is dominated by intense layers of white currant, passion fruit, and crushed lime zest, supported by the distinctive stone fruit character of Nectaron. A neutral, grainy malt backbone provides a soft platform for the aggressive hop saturation without introducing distracting sweetness or heavy caramel notes. On the palate, a firm but smooth bitterness balances the tropical fruit esters, leading to a crisp, dry finish. It exemplifies a modern approach to the style, prioritizing vibrant hop oils and clean fermentation.
Appearance. Deep gold color (approx. 7 SRM) with a slight, persistent haze from the intensive dry-hopping. Features a dense, creamy, off-white head with excellent retention and significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aromatics featuring gooseberry and white grape (Nelson), citrus-lime (Motueka), and ripe peach (Nectaron). Background notes of passion fruit (Galaxy) are supported by a very low, clean, crackery malt presence and neutral fermentation.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical and citrus fruit. A moderately-high bitterness is present but remains smooth and well-integrated, following the hop-forward character of passion fruit and lime. Malt flavor is low and neutral, ensuring a dry, crisp finish with a lingering resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, soft texture. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a lively prickle that highlights the hop oils. Alcohol warmth is well-restrained, smooth, and integrated without any harshness.
