Barleywine 15 º
Continuance Blend #7 is an opulent, barrel-aged expression that pushes the boundaries of a traditional English Barleywine. A luxurious base of English Barleywine and Imperial Stout threads provides a foundation of toffee, dark fruit, and biscuit, further enriched by the inclusion of pecans in the mash for a buttery, nutty depth. Aging for 11 to 29 months in oak barrels imparts structured vanilla and charred wood notes, which harmonize with the decadent additions of Thai bananas, maple syrup, and warming cinnamon. At 15% ABV, this blend is intensely rich and viscous, offering a sophisticated tapestry of caramelized sugar and spice.
Appearance. Deep mahogany to dark brown with ruby highlights (SRM 22-35). Thick viscosity creates prominent legs on the glass. A thin, creamy, tan head forms briefly with low retention due to high alcohol and oils from pecans.
Aroma. High intensity with complex layers of maple syrup, caramelized Thai bananas, and spicy cinnamon. The malt profile is rich with toffee, toasted bread, and dark fruit, complemented by heavy oak-derived vanilla, bourbon-like spirits, and a distinct nutty pecan character.
Taste. Initial impression is deeply sweet and malt-forward with flavors of maple, ripe banana, and dark caramel. The mid-palate reveals toasted pecans, cinnamon spice, and hints of dark chocolate from the stout threads. Hop bitterness is low, providing just enough balance against the residual sugars. The finish is long and warming with lingering notes of vinous dried fruits, oak tannins, and vanilla.
Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, thick, and chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is low, enhancing the syrupy mouthfeel. Significant alcohol warmth is present but smooth and well-integrated, providing a comforting glow without harshness.

Continuance Blend 7 nasce dall’unione di farmhouse ales e fermentazioni mixed culture maturate pazientemente in botte, seguendo il classico approccio di Side Project Brewing fatto di tempo, microflora e continua ricerca dell’equilibrio. Ogni blend viene assemblato per valorizzare profondità aromatica, acidità raffinata e massima bevibilità, lasciando che il legno e la fermentazione spontanea si integrino senza mai diventare invasivi.
Al naso emergono agrumi maturi, frutta a polpa bianca, fieno, cantina, pepe bianco e leggere sfumature funky e vinose. Il sorso è secco, vibrante e minerale, con una acidità fine e una carbonazione vivace che rendono la bevuta dinamica, elegante e incredibilmente scorrevole. Il finale è lungo, pulito e leggermente tannico.
Una farmhouse/wild ale contemporanea dove blending, tempo e affinamento in botte lavorano insieme in perfetta armonia.
