This collaborative German Altbier showcases a classic Düsseldorf character. A precise malt bill of Pilsner, Munich, and Caramunich I creates a backbone of toasted bread crusts and toasted nuts, while a touch of Carafa III Special deepens the copper hue without adding roast. The Spalter Select hops provide a spicy, peppery aroma that cuts through the rich maltiness. Fermented with German Ale Atecnos yeast, the profile is exceptionally clean and well-attenuated. Expect a firm, assertive bitterness that transitions into a crisp, dry finish, embodying the traditional balance of a well-crafted Altbier from the Lower Rhine.

Appearance. Deep copper to bronze-orange with brilliant clarity. Pours with a thick, creamy, long-lasting off-white head that leaves delicate lacing.

Aroma. Moderate to moderately high rich malt aroma, evoking baked bread and toasted crusts from the Munich and Caramunich I components. Clean fermentation with no significant esters. A moderate spicy and floral hop presence from Spalter Select complements the grainy malt sweetness.
