Schöfferhofer Weizen Dunkel offers a sophisticated sensory profile that bridges the gap between refreshing wheat character and dark malt complexity. The experience begins with a distinctive fruity banana aroma and a subtle roasted undertone, characteristic of its Dunkles Weissbier roots. This hazy, chocolate-brown pour is topped with a persistent, off-white foam. On the palate, the classic yeast-driven esters of banana and clove are complemented by notes of toasted bread crust and light chocolate. A surprising citrus brightness and a signature acidic finish provide a crisp counterpoint to the malty depth, while high carbonation maintains a lively, effervescent mouthfeel.
Appearance. Cloudy, chocolate-brown to mahogany (SRM 14-23) with a thick, elegant, off-white moussy head that shows excellent retention and lacing.
