At a bold 11% ABV, it presents an intense aromatic profile of toasted cinnamon, rich caramel, and deep espresso. The sensory experience is dominated by the addition of authentic stroopwafels, manifesting as layers of gooey syrup and buttery waffle dough. Velvety dark chocolate and charred grain provide a robust malt backbone, balancing the decadent sweetness. The finish is long and warming, leaving a lingering impression of spiced cookies and dark fruit. It is a viscous, complex, and harmonious expression of a dessert-forward stout.
Appearance. Opaque, jet black in color with a thick, creamy, deep tan head. Viscous legs are visible on the glass due to high alcohol and sugar content.
Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and burnt grain. Prominent notes of caramel, cinnamon, and vanilla from the stroopwafel additions. Low esters of prune and raisin, with a smooth, warming alcohol presence.
Taste. Initial impression is intensely sweet and rich. Deep flavors of liquid caramel, toasted waffle, and spicy cinnamon meld with bittersweet cocoa and espresso. Hop bitterness is moderate but largely masked by the malt density and residual sugars. The finish is long and sweet, characterized by lingering cookie dough and dark roasted malt flavors.
Mouthfeel. Full to very full-bodied with a thick, chewy, and velvety texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A noticeable, smooth alcohol warmth provides a pleasant contrast to the beer's heavy viscosity.
