The finish is long and warming, leaving a lingering impression of spiced cookies and dark fruit. It is a viscous, complex, and harmonious expression of a dessert-forward stout.
Appearance. Opaque, jet black in color with a thick, creamy, deep tan head. Viscous legs are visible on the glass due to high alcohol and sugar content.
Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and burnt grain. Prominent notes of caramel, cinnamon, and vanilla from the stroopwafel additions. Low esters of prune and raisin, with a smooth, warming alcohol presence.
Taste. Initial impression is intensely sweet and rich. Deep flavors of liquid caramel, toasted waffle, and spicy cinnamon meld with bittersweet cocoa and espresso.
