Imperial IPA 8.2 º
Left On Read is a bold, classic Double IPA that captures the essence of the West Coast style. It presents a vibrant hop profile defined by sharp resin, pungent pine, and bright grapefruit zest. Despite its robust 8.2% ABV, the beer remains remarkably smooth and approachable, with the alcohol well-integrated into a clean, dry body. A foundation of neutral, grainy malts provides just enough support to let the aggressive hop bitterness shine without veering into sweetness. Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper (7-10 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring classic West Coast traits of resinous pine, citrus peel, and a hint of floral spice. Supportive, neutral grainy maltiness in the background with a clean fermentation profile and a very soft, integrated alcohol presence.
Taste. Strong and complex hop flavors of grapefruit, resin, and pine needle dominate. High bitterness is firm and assertive but lacks harshness. Malt character is low and clean, providing a soft, unobtrusive base. The finish is dry to medium-dry with a lingering, clean hop bitterness and a smooth, warming alcohol quality.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a crisp bite that enhances the dry finish. Alcohol warmth is restrained and well-integrated, with no hop-derived astringency.
