The addition of rye provides a distinct spicy earthiness that cuts through the rich, bready Munich malt base. On the palate, a velvety sweetness transitions into smooth, roasted coffee notes without a hint of harshness. Despite the formidable strength, it maintains a clean fermentation profile, finishing with a warming, vinous glow and a lingering touch of dried fruit and rye spice.
Appearance. Opaque deep brown with garnet highlights; a thick, persistent, creamy tan head leaves significant lacing.
