Palm Speciale
Palm Speciale is a refined Belgian Pale Ale defined by its accessibility and balanced complexity. Its signature amber color comes from roasted Champagne Malt, which provides a light toasted character without the weight of darker ales. The aroma features a delicate interplay between honeyed notes from French Barley and fruity esters of pear and orange from the Belgian yeast. A soft, bready sweetness is punctuated by a mild, herbal hop presence from traditional English hops. The result is a smooth, highly drinkable ale with a clean, balanced finish that avoids the aggressive yeastiness often found in stronger Belgian styles.
Appearance. Clear amber to copper (10-14 SRM). Brilliant clarity. Dense, creamy, rocky white head with excellent retention and lacing.
Aroma. Moderate bready and biscuity malt intensity with hints of honey. Fruitiness is moderate, suggestive of pear and orange peel. Low herbal and earthy hop character from the use of English hops. Very low peppery yeast phenols.
Taste. Initial soft, smooth malt profile featuring toasted bread and light caramel flavors. Moderate fruitiness including apple and citrus notes. Low spicy hop flavor with a medium-low bitterness (approx. 20-30 IBU). Balanced finish with a slight residual sweetness and a clean, lingering malt aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, soft palate. Moderate to medium-high carbonation. Alcohol warmth is negligible and well-restrained.
