Outer Range Brewing Co. Alpine Echo

This Hazy IPA, a collaboration with 90 BPM, captures a lush mountain profile through a heavy-handed use of Nectaron and Strata hops. The sensory experience begins with an explosion of ripe peach and bright grapefruit, transitioning into a complex, resinous dank undertone that grounds the tropical intensity. A soft, pillowy malt base provides a gentle bready sweetness, allowing the multifaceted hop oils to shine without harshness. The result is a vibrant, juicy character that feels both fresh and substantive, balancing assertive fruit esters with a smooth, lingering citrus finish characteristic of the Hazy IPA style.
Appearance. Straw to light orange (4-6 SRM) with a deep, opaque haze and a luminous shine. Topped by a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head that exhibits high retention and leaves intricate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics lead with pronounced stone fruit and tropical notes, specifically ripe peach from Nectaron hops. This is complemented by grapefruit zest and a distinctive, resinous dankness from the Strata variety. Background malt is clean and lightly bready, while the fermentation profile contributes subtle fruity esters.
Taste. The initial impression is a massive wave of fruity hop flavors, mirroring the aroma with layers of peach, passion fruit, and ruby red grapefruit. A low to medium-high bitterness provides structure without becoming sharp, balanced against a medium bready malt backbone. The finish is off-dry and smooth, leaving a lingering, soft hop character and a clean aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a remarkably soft, pillowy texture and no harshness. Moderate carbonation supports the hop aromatics. There is a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth, and the beer remains smooth without any astringency or raw starchiness.
