Origen Black IPA
Origen Black IPA delivers a sophisticated sensory profile that bridges the gap between a robust stout’s color and a West Coast IPA’s hop intensity. The aroma is dominated by floral and resinous hops, seamlessly layered over subtle toasted malt notes of dark cocoa and light coffee. On the palate, the experience is dense and flavorful, characterized by a firm yet balanced bitterness that cuts through the medium-full body. This Black IPA maintains a clean fermentation profile, allowing the interplay of roasted grains and pungent hops to lead into a dry, lingering finish that highlights its complex, dark-fruit and piney character.
Appearance. Opaque black (38 SRM) with a creamy, persistent tan head and excellent lacing.
Aroma. High hop intensity featuring floral, piney, and resinous notes; moderate malt character of dark chocolate and toasted bread; very low esters and no burnt acridity.
Taste. Robust hop flavor of pine and citrus pith; medium-low malt flavors of cocoa and light toast; high bitterness that is firm but balanced by a supportive malt backbone; dry and clean finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture; moderate carbonation; light, integrated alcohol warmth; low astringency.
