This Belgian-style Saison presents a vibrant sensory profile defined by the prominent addition of blood orange, which introduces a bright, citrusy tone. Appearance. Pale orange to deep gold (SRM 6-10). Dense, rocky ivory head with excellent retention and significant Belgian lace. Unfiltered with a slight to moderate haze.
Aroma. High intensity zesty blood orange layered over moderate fruity esters of lemon and pear, with distinct black pepper phenols. Low earthy and floral hop character with a subtle, grainy malt background.
Taste. Immediate citrusy blood orange and peppery spice. Low grainy malt flavor. Hop bitterness is moderate but feels firm due to high attenuation and a light, refreshing tartness. Earthy hop flavor persists into a very dry, clean finish with a lingering spicy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with very high, effervescent carbonation. Light, well-integrated alcohol warmth. Crisp and refreshing with no astringency.
