This 2025 edition of the Mango Lassi Heathen is a decadent Fruited India Pale Ale that masterfully translates the creamy essence of a traditional lassi into a beer format. Building upon the robust, tropical foundation of the brewery’s Heathen base, the profile is dominated by a luscious, sun-ripened mango character and the smoothing, sweet aromatic influence of vanilla. The sensory experience is defined by a heavy, smoothie-like consistency that coats the palate, delivering a vibrant fruit-forward intensity. While the hop character provides a subtle citrus backdrop, the focus remains on the thick, velvety texture and the seamless integration of stone fruit and cream.

Appearance. Opaque and saturated deep orange-gold, resembling fresh fruit nectar. Pours with a dense, creamy, off-white head that shows excellent persistence and leaves thick, localized lacing.

Aroma. High intensity with an immediate burst of fresh, fleshy mango. A prominent, sweet vanilla bean note provides a dessert-like quality, supported by underlying tropical hop esters of passion fruit and citrus. Clean fermentation with no notable phenols.

Taste. An indulgent initial impression of mango purée and vanilla cream. The malt provides a bready, doughy support that balances the fruit. Hop bitterness is mild and soft, sufficient only to prevent cloying, while hop flavors echo the tropical fruit theme. The finish is long and fruit-driven with a lingering creamy sweetness.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied with a rich, viscous, smoothie-like texture. Carbonation is moderate and soft, enhancing the creaminess. A gentle alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, with no astringency.
