This 2025 edition of the Mango Lassi Heathen is a decadent Fruited India Pale Ale that masterfully translates the creamy essence of a traditional lassi into a beer format. Building upon the robust, tropical foundation of the brewery’s Heathen base, the profile is dominated by a luscious, sun-ripened mango character and the smoothing, sweet aromatic influence of vanilla. The sensory experience is defined by a heavy, smoothie-like consistency that coats the palate, delivering a vibrant fruit-forward intensity. While the hop character provides a subtle citrus backdrop, the focus remains on the thick, velvety texture and the seamless integration of stone fruit and cream.
Appearance. Opaque and saturated deep orange-gold, resembling fresh fruit nectar. Pours with a dense, creamy, off-white head that shows excellent persistence and leaves thick, localized lacing.
Aroma. High intensity with an immediate burst of fresh, fleshy mango. A prominent, sweet vanilla bean note provides a dessert-like quality, supported by underlying tropical hop esters of passion fruit and citrus. Clean fermentation with no notable phenols.
