This indulgent Oatmeal Stout presents a decadent sensory profile, elevated by its strength and rich adjuncts. The aroma is dominated by Dutch-processed cocoa and deep maple syrup, layered over a base of roasted coffee and dark chocolate. On the palate, the velvety texture of the oats provides a luxurious foundation for flavors of brown sugar and bittersweet chocolate. While the maple syrup adds a distinct, woody sweetness, it is balanced by a moderate roasted bitterness and a light alcohol warmth. Appearance. Opaque black (SRM 40). Thick, persistent, creamy tan head with excellent lacing and a dense structure.

Aroma. High intensity with prominent dark chocolate and Dutch-processed cocoa notes. Distinct maple syrup and brown sugar sweetness provides a rich top note, supported by roasted malt scents of coffee-and-cream and toasted oats. Low earthy hop aroma; low fruity esters.

Taste. Initial rich sweetness from maple syrup and brown sugar. Deep flavors of Dutch-processed cocoa and milk chocolate follow, supported by a toasty, nutty oatmeal graininess and mild roasted coffee. Medium-low bitterness provides enough balance to prevent cloying. The finish is medium-sweet and lingering with a mocha-like aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Full body with a silky, velvety, almost oily texture derived from the oatmeal. Medium-low carbonation enhances the creaminess. Noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth. No perceived astringency.
