Moinette Blonde

Das Dupont Moinette Blond ist ein bekanntes belgisches   Starkbier.

So komplex es ist, so erfrischend und ausgewogen ist es zugleich.

Der süß - malzige Antrunk wird duch eine schöne Hopfenbittere untermalt und duch seine fruchtigen Noten abgerundet.

Abgelößt wird diese Fruchtigkeit von scharf - würzigen Aromen von Koriander und Pfeffer.

The Brasserie Dupont’s flagship product in the Belgian market: the Moinette! This beer was created in 1955.

This is a complex and strong Belgian blonde ale with a fruity nose (yellow stonefruit), enhanced by citrus aromas (orange) and spices (clove), somewhat akin to trappist and abbey beers but distinctly drier.

Herbaceous aromas with ginger, pear and spice notes. On the palate, there is a nice balance between snappy bitterness and a round sweetness. The result is a wonderfully dense ale that is also delightfully light. 

Best served at cellar temperature (12°C), or chilled as an aperitif.

Where does its name come from?
To find out, we need to go back to Tourpes in the 1900s.
The Cense de la Moinette stands on the family estate. The name refers to the shifting ground around it. The name “Moinette” is a corruption of the old French “moëne”, meaning “swamp”, a very common feature in the region at the time.
